First City Project Collective Inc. spreads seasonal cheer with special holiday event for Glen Cove EOC

The historic JH Coles Homestead will be the site of a magical winter wonderland on Monday, Dec. 19 when the First City Project Collective Inc. hosts a special Toys for Tots event for youth served by the Glen Cove Economic Opportunity Council.

Approximately 100 youngsters served by the EOC will receive toys, cookies and hot chocolate during the event, which is an extension of FCP Collective Inc.’s ongoing outreach and desire to bring holiday cheer to families in need in our community.

This celebration is an outgrowth of the massive Toys for Tots drive that was founded 12 years ago by FCP Collective Inc. board members Joe LaPadula and Jon Holzer and continues under their leadership.

This year’s drive, which was held at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Sunday, Dec. 4, generated more than 166,000 individual donations, making it the largest one-day Toys for Tots donation event in America.

The organizers thank the Crescent Beach Club and Southdown Coffee for respectively donating the cookies and hot chocolate that young guests will enjoy during the event.

In addition to approximately 100 youth served by the Glen Cove EOC, FCP Collective Inc. board members (Joe LaPadula; Jon Holzer; Soojin Kim; Delia DeRiggi-Whitton; Michael G. Norman and Rocco Totino) are scheduled to be joined by City of Glen Cove Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck and members of the City Council, local business owners and other supporters.
