Great Neck Library Sunday concert: The Underdogs of the Orchestra

Come and enjoy a family concert by Michele Zwierski, Rita Rozen and Jay Rozen featuring the lowest members of the orchestra.  Hear all types of music, from classical to jazz to rock.  Experience these unusual instruments up close and personal.

Our performer, Michele Zwierski, bass, has music degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Yale University.  She is a librarian and plays in several Long Island orchestras.  Jay Rozen, bass trombone, has a music education degree from Stony Brook University.

He was a member of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and spent 9 years playing with jazz great Anthony Braxton.  Rita Rozen, bass trombone, has a music education degree from the University of Northern Florida at Jacksonville.  They are completing a masters degree in Music Therapy from Slippery Rock University.

The concert is at the Great Neck Library 159 Bayview Ave., Great Neck, on Sunday, March 12 at 2:00 p.m. in the Main Library Community Room. Registration is required and can be completed online at www.greatnecklibrary.org, in-person, or via phone.
