SCW Cultural Arts at Emanuel presents video conversation with John Flannery and Joyce Vance moderated by Errol Louis

On Sunday, Jan. 10, at 3:00 p.m. Stephen C. Widom Cultural Arts at Emanuel will present a Video Conversation with former federal appellate law clerk, New York federal prosecutor and Congressional special counsel, John Flannery, and former U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama and current law professor at University of Alabama School of Law, Joyce Vance.

Both are regular guest commentators on television and radio, frequently appearing on MSNBC. Their dialogue will be moderated by NY1 anchor, host of Inside City Hall, and CNN political analyst, Errol Louis.

SCW Cultural Arts’ 9th season continues, just 10 days before the inauguration of President-elect Joseph Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, with a discussion of the stormy post-election period of transition and what it portends for the incoming administration.

John P. Flannery, II, is a former federal appellate law clerk, NY federal prosecutor, Congressional special counsel, listed in Who’s Who in America, having handled complex civil and criminal matters, and represented clients for 40 years in courts across the nation. He is a regular guest commentator on television and radio, frequently appearing on MSNBC’s Hardball with Chris Matthews and Ari Melber’s The Beat, as well as on CNN. • Joyce White Vance is a Distinguished Professor of the Practice of Law at Hugh F. Culverhouse Jr. School of Law at The University of Alabama.

She served as the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama from 2009 to 2017. She was nominated for that position by President Barack Obama in May of 2009 and unanimously confirmed by the Senate in August of 2009.

As U.S. Attorney, she was responsible for overseeing all federal criminal investigations and prosecutions in north Alabama. She is a frequent legal commentator on MSNBC and other news outlets.

This program is made possible through the generosity of Lynn and Edward Streim, past president of Temple Emanuel.
