Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty will likely open an office in Great Neck Plaza by spring, according to Samuel Marcus, who will manage the new office.

And, according to Marcus, “it’s long overdue.”

“Great Neck as a community has really been searching for something different,” Marcus, who is currently an associate real estate broker in the company’s Glen Head office, said “and we’re ready to provide it for them.”

The addition of a Great Neck office comes as Daniel Sotheby’s International Realty has expanded into Queens, Rockville Centre on the South Shore and east toward Westhampton Beach.

The organization has 27 offices, including two in Manhasset, one in Greenvale and one in Port Washington, as well as 900 sales agents. It had $3.3 billion in sales in 2017, an uptick from $3.2 billion in 2016.

While Marcus said Daniel Gale Sotheby’s could be considered a “luxury real estate brand,” he said most of its sales are below a million dollars and that Great Neck “is that luxury lifestyle.”

“Luxury is not a price,” Marcus said, “it’s an experience.”

“I think we’re providing a much needed service that doesn’t currently exist there,” Marcus added.

Marcus said that the Great Neck-based agents, combined with access to Sotheby’s International Realty’s resources, will bring a new way of doing real estate business in Great Neck.

“I think the hope is that we’re able to demonstrate that Daniel Gale Sotheby’s difference to the community so that they understand the difference and how we can service them much better,” Marcus said. “If the community really understands that, they’ll embrace what we have to offer and we will grow in the community and dominate the market really quickly as we have in other communities.”

“We are bringing to Great Neck a very professional, ethical business model,” Marcus added. “We’re bringing our way to Great Neck and I think that in itself is raising the bar.”

Marcus said he expects the office, which will be located at 42 Middle Neck Road in Great Neck Plaza, to be open in early May.
