Two Roslyn High School seniors and members of the Royal Crown Players (RCP) have been recognized as semi-finalists in The Roger Rees Awards. The Awards, on behalf of the Broadway Education Alliance, annually recognizes excellence in student performance in New York State and provides students with educational scholarships, skills training, and career advancement.

Saydie Grossman (Best Actress) and Davey Fried (Best Actor) were nominated for their performances in RCP’s recent production of the musical, Big Fish. They are among fifty semi-finalists who will advance to masterclass competitions led by professional coaches and music directors.

“I am beyond proud of these students for their hard work and dedication in theatre arts,” said Cyndi Feinman, Director of the Royal Crown Players. “They are two very talented students!”

The final two finalists will be given the opportunity to perform at the National High School Musical Theater Awards (known as The Jimmy Awards) on June 27, 2022.

The National High School Musical Theatre Awards was established to elevate the importance of theatre arts education in schools and reward excellence in student performance. The Jimmy Award is named in honor of James M. Nederlander, legendary Broadway theatre owner and producer.
