Two students from Mineola High School, Arwen Lopez and Adam Tobar, were selected by the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) to perform in the 2021 All-State Music Conference. An additional student, Bridget Cunningham, was selected as an alternate.
All-State musicians are the top students from school music departments across New York. Lopez, Tobar and Cunningham are among the thousands of students who auditioned for the conference by participating in solo evaluation festivals last spring.
Lopez was selected for vocal jazz, Tobar was selected for electronic music composition and Cunningham was chosen as a chorus alternate.
The All-State Conference will take place in Rochester from Dec. 2-5.
