Fifth- and sixth-graders in Floral Park-Bellerose’s Drama Club performed its production of “Annie, Jr.,” on March 8 and 9, in the Joseph E. Widener auditorium.

The students delivered the story of 11-year-old Annie, played by students Olivia Battista and Abigail Sullivan, who is living miserably in an orphanage under the tyrannical Miss Hannigan, played by student Abigail Kelly.

Abigail Kelly, Miss Hannigan, made life unbearable for orphans at the orphanage.

Annie gets an opportunity to live with billionaire Oliver Warbucks, played by Enda Heaney, for the Christmas holiday, and quickly charms the hearts of the household staff and even the seemingly cold-hearted Warbucks.

He decides to help Annie find her long-lost parents by offering a reward if they would come to him and prove their identity. However, Miss Hannigan, her evil brother, Rooster, played by Henry Smith, and female accomplice Lily St. Regis, played by Kaleigh Manahan, plan to impersonate those people to get the reward for themselves, which puts Annie in great danger.

Principal Jamie Adams commended the cast and crew on an incredible performance.
