Great Neck South High School Juniors, Sebastian Lennox and Jillian Chang, placed second in the Group Websites category of the New York State National History Day competition.
They now qualify to move on to the National competition in June. This year’s theme is “Debate & Diplomacy in History: Successes, Failures, Consequences.”
The students created a website titled, “Fishin’ Wars: ​​​​​​​Reaffirming Native American Fishing Rights.” South High students participate under the guidance of the school History Club advised by Ms. Frances Tria.
This is Sebastian and Jillian’s second year to qualify for the National competition and are the only students from Great Neck to move on.
