Pride Shabbat at Temple Isaiah

Temple Isaiah will hold its first Pride Shabbat on Friday, June 16t in support of the LGBTQ community.

According to Rabbi Jerry Blum, “In this era of transphobia and increased attacks at all levels of government and the private sector on hard-won rights of the LGBTQ community, it’s more important than ever for people of faith and goodwill to speak out in support of the community.”

Temple Isaiah is a safe space for the queer community and their allies to meet and discuss issues of importance. The Temple has previously sponsored programs by PFLAG, the national advocacy organization for Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays, and scheduled discussion groups. This Pride Shabbat is its next step in supporting the community.

Services begin at 6:30 PM, and the Pride program will follow at 7:30. All are welcome; this is a completely non-denominational event. Temple Isaiah is located at One Chelsea Place, off Cutter Mill Road. For more information, call the Temple office at 516-487-5373.
