Mineola Diner overcomes hurdles of COVID-19

The Mineola Diner has been a staple establishment in the village since 1948. The stainless steel classic holds many memories for multiple generations that have resided in the community. Patrons often tell us stories of way back when Shane and I had taken the diner over on April 11, 2011 and have been running strong for the last ten years. We have put our own twist on the diner as we brought our creative brunch menu to the table being offered 7 days a week.

In 2017, we obtained ownership of the building and vowed to restore the structure to its true 50’s roots. We also converted the outside dining area into additional year round seating to accommodate larger parties that want to dine in a piece of American history. The last nearly two years have been quite difficult on the food service industry.

With COVID-19 came many hurdles for us at the Mineola Diner. We utilized any resources we had to keep the doors open and our staff employed. It was not an easy balancing act and we will be digging ourselves out for some time but we luckily made it through. One of our new offerings is the addition of a beer and wine license. Sometimes its nice to have a Mimosa with brunch or a nice seasonal brew with a burger.

We wanted our patrons to have those options. We are also considering pop up nights hosting trivia and the like for our customers. We continually strive to make our establishment stand out and will continue to do so for years to come. We love our regulars and they are a major part of our lives. We always welcome new members to the “Diner Family Of Regulars”.
