The Hillside Library is combining with the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless in doing a Hats, Scarves and Glove Drive.

There is a bin at the library in which donations could be placed. Our community has always been very generous to our Donation Drives, and we thank you for your continued generosity.

Women of Strength with Jenn – Virtual
Tuesday, November 29 at 7 p.m. Light…Igniting and illuminating your own inner radiance. Women of Strength is an invitation for all women to unite, connect, and embrace the journey of returning home to our true selves. Through the use of gentle yoga techniques, breath work, discussion and guided relaxation, we will journey together towards restoring, and healing our tired minds and our restless hearts to lovingly return home and unite fully with our own Feminine Inner Strength.

Senior Financial Workshop – All Purpose Room
Wednesday, November 30 at 12 noon. Meet the Experts from Family and Children’s Association and Learn All About: Property Tax Exemption; Reverse Mortgage Counseling; Bill Payer Services – Help with bill paying and organizing financial paperwork. Financial Counseling- Ninety-nine percent of our clients reported less stress related to financial situations. Health Insurance/Medicare. Family and Children’s Association is comprised of experienced professionals who dedicate themselves to serve the most vulnerable residents of Long Island. FCA offers Seniors help in many ways. We are also home to the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) and the Health Insurance Information, Counseling and Assistance Program (HIICAP) for Medicare beneficiaries. Our Senior Division also offers resources for caretakers, mental health support, and in-home assistance.

Find the Love Within and Share the Love with All – Virtual
Wednesday, November 30 at 1 p.m. Join Jim Rose, retired executive of a Fortune 100 Company long-time meditator who has been practicing meditation for over 30 years. At this workshop, you will have a chance to experience this time-tested, life-changing technique. Jim Rose, M Ed., Rutgers University, is a retired executive of a fortune 100 company. He has 35 years of experience in Human Resources management, employee development and conflict resolution. This program is brought to you courtesy of Nassau Libraries Health Share.

Holiday Baking with the Bread Monk – Virtual
Wednesday, November 30 at 6:30 p.m. Baking your way through the holidays with Fr. Dominic Garramone, the Bread Monk! Learn how to make delicious Hannukah jelly donuts, Fruited Sweet Potato Bread for Kwanzaa, and a variety of classic Christmas Breads from around the world.

In-Person Holiday Candles with Chrissy – All Purpose Room
Wednesday, November 30, 6:30 – 7:15 p.m. Season’s Greetings! Create your own candle using a variety of colors, wintry holiday fragrances, seasonal decals.
The simple fun process of layering dry wax granules can create different patterns like a rainbow, quilted or tie-dye. No two candles come out the same! $5.00 fee for materials, cash only please. This program is for patrons 18 years of age and older.

CHILDREN and YOUNG ADULT EVENTS

Stemtastic: Candy Catapults! – All Purpose Room
Monday, November 28 at 5:30 p.m. Ages: 7 years- 11 years. Not sure what to do with all that leftover candy? We’ll design a catapult and make a game out of launching it into a basket or hoop. Challenge your friends to see who can hit the most targets.

YA Art Club – All Purpose Room
