Seven New Hyde Park Memorial High School students were recognized as Honorable Mention award recipients in the Long Island Irish Cultural Society’s 2022 Martin J. Kelly Writing Contest.
The contest was open to all Nassau County students in ninth through 12th grade.
Students were challenged with writing a creative description of each of the 11 iron workers on a beam as shown in the photograph, “Men at Lunch.”
The New Hyde Park Memorial students who were honored for their creative writing pieces are: Adriana Caneda, Abigail Chacko, Hailey Brooker, Brianna Dunn, Rachel Priest, Dylan Sanichara and Marco Valle.
