New York Institute of Technology is once again offering career-oriented summer programs for pre-college students at its campuses in Old Westbury and Manhattan at Columbus Circle.
The various offerings, known collectively as NYIT Academy, begin as early as July 9, with the last session ending on August 3. Sessions last between one and four weeks, depending on the program.
NYIT Academy is an immersive college experience for students ages 15 through 20. Our programs combine academic instruction with hands-on learning opportunities and unique cultural experiences.
Pre-college students can attend one or more of the following NYIT Academy summer experiences in Old Westbury:
- Health and Medical Academy (2 weeks; 2 credits; NYIT School of Health Professions and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine). Learn about various health-related careers by working in NYIT labs, attending interactive lectures, receiving CPR training, and going on field trips to New York City. This program has a maximum enrollment of 30 students.
- Makers and Fabricators (2 weeks; 2 credits; NYIT School of Engineering and Computing Sciences). Take an idea from paper to assembly using metal, plastic, acrylic, wood, or other materials while growing your skill set in a safe environment. This program has a maximum enrollment of 20 student.
- Technology and Engineering Experience (2 weeks; 2 credits; NYIT School of Engineering and Computing Sciences). Explore coding, robotics, materials science, and other elements of careers in technology, engineering, and computer science (offered in both Long Island and Manhattan).
