New leadership at Schmear Bagel & Café has recharged their menu and the storefront with a new logo and awning.
Owner George Tsikis has implemented changes to many recipes and introduced more freshly made menu items.
With the help of the sign grant, George revived the outside of the store as well. The grant program sponsored by the Port Washington B.I.D. supports these types of upgrades as they improve the look and feel of the commercial corridor and recognize business owners who invest in the curb appeal of our community.
George has a family legacy in hospitality and food service and brings his passion to Schmear Bagel & Café. Tsikis said, “I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the Port Washington Business Improvement District. Being a small business owner in Port is truly an honor. I look forward to continuing to contribute to our wonderful community.”
Cindie Leigh, B.I.D. board member and owner of Fathoms Hotel said, “As a local business owner and B.I.D. board member I am proud to support Schmear Bagel & CafĂ© with the award of a sign grant. Schmear is a local breakfast and lunchtime gem loved by the Port Washington community. It provides not only an extensive healthful menu, but also offers a warm and inviting spot to gather in the center of town. We wish them continued success”
Schmear Bagel & Café provides plenty of indoor seating as well as take-out and sidewalk café tables. Visit them in person at 83 Main Street, Port Washington, or online at https://schmearbagelcafe.com/
Eligible merchants and commercial property owners, both new and established within the defined business district can apply for grants for funding to assist with costs of improvements to the façade and/or signage at their place of business.
