Students and staff throughout the East Williston School District celebrated Red Ribbon Week from Oct. 25-31. Each day was designated with a special spirit-based event to celebrate their choice to make healthy decisions and be drug free.

Some of the designated spirit days included Team Up Against Drugs Day, which asked students and staff to wear their favorite sports shirt and team up against drugs; United WE STAND Against Drugs Day, which asked everyone to don school spirit wear to show their unity; Tune Out Drugs Day, when students and staff wore a shirt representing their favorite band to show how they tune out dangerous substances that can harm our bodies; and Follow Your Dreams Day, which was a chance to wear pajamas to school and share their dreams to remain drug free.

The event culminated with Drugs Are Scary on Oct. 31, when students and staff were encouraged to wear a Halloween costume.

In addition to the spirit days, students made a pledge to remain drug free and received daily positive messages related to the day’s theme.
