On Sunday, April 22, people of all ages and abilities will join together at the Sands Point Preserve for Helen’s Run/Walk 2018. The annual 5K/3.1 mile event benefits Helen Keller National Center for Deaf-Blind Youths & Adults (HKNC) and its mission to support those living with combined vision and hearing loss.
“This event is for everyone: deaf-blind, hearing, sighted — come down and join the fun!” said deaf-blind student Elizabeth Aguilera in a video. “Jump on board and walk or run. Whatever floats your boat! It’s a great opportunity to meet the community. All the money raised goes straight to supporting the training and advocacy needs of deaf-blind people at HKNC.”
You can support Elizabeth’s team, form your own, or participate as an individual. Either way, you’re sure to have a great time for a great cause. To register for Helen’s Run/Walk 2018, please visit helenkeller.org/hks/events/annual-helens-runwalk.
