Three Roslyn High School students were honored with Quill Awards at Adelphi University’s Annual Press Day event—held virtually on February 18, 2022. The recognition was bestowed for articles they wrote for The Hilltop Beacon—Roslyn High School’s student newspaper.

Junior Simone Mashaal placed third for Best Visual (Photography or Artwork) with “Taking a Shot at Common Sense.” Sophomore Benji Rabinovich placed first in Best Sports Story or Column for “Boys Volleyball Defeats Calhoun to Win County Championship.” Sophomore Ari Siegel placed second for Most Outstanding Reporter.

Each year, the event provides student-journalists with some tricks of the trade from seasoned print and digital media professionals and Adelphi communications faculty through panels and workshops.
