VITA Tax Aide “Free”                                                                                             

Free assistance is available for persons with incomes, $70,000 or less, who wish to have their taxes prepared by trained volunteers in the Volunteer Tax Assistance Program. You can call the library at 516 355-7850, x101 or 102 to schedule an appointment on any of the following days: Saturdays, February 18 or 25; March 4, 11, 18 or 25; April 1, 8 or 15.  The following are the appointment times: 10:15 a.m.; 11:15 a.m.; 12:15 p.m. or 1:15 p.m.

Stony Brook Health Education: Men’s Cancers 101 – Virtual

Tuesday, February 21 at 12 noon. Join the dynamic duo health educators of Stony Brook Cancer Center and learn about cancers that primarily affect men or people assigned male at birth. Gain an understanding about the importance of knowing your body, early detection and screening guidelines for specific cancers. This program is brought to you courtesy of Nassau Libraries Health Share.

Tuesday, February 21 at 6 p.m. Join Town of North Hempstead Receiver of Taxes, Charles Berman, and learn how to properly appeal your 2024/25 property tax assessment.

Thursday, February 23 at 6:30 p.m. February is American Heart Month and Healthy Eating Is Easier Than You Think! Join Sonny Rios, Executive Chef, and Juliet Monclova, Registered Dietitian, at Northwell Health to learn about heart-healthy cooking techniques, easy meal planning ideas, and basic nutrition principles to prevent heart disease.

Time for Kid: Rocketship! – All Purpose Room

Friday, February 17 at 10:30 a.m. Ages: 3-7 years (with parent/caregiver). Come join A Time for Kids, Inc. as we explore rocketships in this family fun preschool program. Activities include music, movement, fine & gross motor development and storytelling! There will also be a Rocketship Craft!
