The Bed Bath & Beyond in New Hyde Park and Harmon Face Values in Mineola will be shutting down as the retail giant looks to avoid bankruptcy.

The move comes as parent company Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., based in Union, N.J., announced this week that 87 stores across 30 states will be shutting down.

The company did not specifically say when the stores will be shutting down, but employees at the New Hyde Park location said it will happen in March, according to Newsday.

New Hyde Park’s Bed Bath & Beyond at 1490 Union Turnpike and the Harmon store at 530 Jericho Turnpike Mineola were named in the company’s list of outgoing stores.

The Bed Bath & Beyond store located in the Munsey Park area of Manhasset also closed in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The New Hyde Park location is one of eight new york locations that are affected. Mineola is among all the Harmon in Long Island that is being shut down.

Five Buy Buy Baby stores are also shutting down, according to the company’s release.

Filing for bankruptcy can come as early as this week, according to Reuters.

Company officials said in August they planned to shut down approximately 150 locations nationwide to help fix its financial position.
