Queens man charged with assaulting police officers, male at L.A. Fitness in New Hyde Park

A Queens man has been charged with assault and resisting arrest after allegedly punching a man in the face Thursday at the L.A. Fitness in New Hyde Park and injuring two police officers that tried to detain him.

Around 4 p.m. on Feb. 2, police responded to 1111 Marcus Ave. to a report of a male bleeding, police said.

The 37-year-old victim, a male, was punched in the face and suffering from pain, swelling and lacerations, police said.

Bryan Daney, 20, resisted arrest and was violent and combative toward officers, injuring them, police said.

The victim and two officers were transported to a local hospital to treat their injuries.

Daney was charged with two counts of assault in the second degree, assault in the third degree, criminal mischief in the third degree and resisting arrest.
