Nassau County announced that Old Bethpage Village Restoration will host “Step into Spring” on Saturday, April 9 and Sunday, April 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The “Step into Spring” events will include Hands on Activities such as birthday candle making, pinch pot, string doll, and seed planting. Historical Trade demonstrations including: candle dipping, hat making, broom making, and cooking. As well as, learning the process of how maple syrup is made, including how to identify sugar maple, tapping the tree, boiling the sap, making maple sugar, and cooking with maple products.
“As we leave winter behind, I invite residents to get out of the house and ‘Step into Spring’ while enjoying the fun family-friendly activities Old Bethpage Village Restoration has to offer,” said Mangano.
Old Bethpage Village Restoration provides visitors with a unique and wonderful opportunity to step back in time and experience life in a recreated mid-19th Century American village set on more than 200 acres. Hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entrance fees are: $10 for adults, $7 for children (5 – 12), seniors and volunteer firefighters.
Old Bethpage Village Restoration is located at 1303 Round Swamp Road in Old Bethpage (Exit 48 of the Long Island Expressway).
