A body was discovered near a Sands Point home on Saturday morning, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
Officials said an individual walking along the beach found the body near 30 Plum Beach Point. The individual contacted the Sands Point police, who responded to the call, according to a county Police Department news release.
Members of the Sands Point Fire Department confirmed that the person, who appeared to be a male in his 50’s, was deceased. The identity of the deceased was not disclosed, and officials from the county Police Department, which is leading the investigation, said no new information has been discovered regarding the incident.
