GNPS Community Ed offers free trial class for first-time students

Interested in trying a new class at Great Neck Community Ed, but not sure if you want to commit to the whole semester? Community Ed is now offering a free introductory class for first-time students. Come experience one of several course offerings for the fall semester with no obligation.

First-time students may select one free trial class from the following courses. (“First-time student” is defined as an individual who has not previously registered for that specific class.) All classes are one hour in length.

  • The Golden Age of Illustration: Norman Rockwell with Tim Savage. Monday, November 2 at 11 a.m.
  • Creating the Great American Songbook (Presentation/Lecture) with Ken Grossman. Wednesday, November 4 at 12 p.m.
  • Term Limits for Congress and the Supreme Court (Lecture/Discussion) with Marc Greenberg. Thursday, November 5 at 11 a.m.
  • Current Events: Post-Election Recap with Marc Greenberg. Thursday, November 5 at 12:15 p.m.
  • Chair Yoga: Stretch, Strength, and Balance with Carolyn Carpentiere. Friday, November 13 at 12:30 p.m.
  • Beginner Line Dance with Lynne Martino. Tuesday, November 10 at 2:30 p.m.
  • Art History: The Life and Works of Gertrude Stein with Mary Dono. Thursday, November 12 at 10:00 a.m.

Space is limited. In order to ensure availability, anyone interested in participating must call Community Ed in advance at (516) 441-4949 to schedule their free introductory class.

In-person classes meet at 30 Cumberland Ave., Great Neck, one block south of Northern Blvd., off Lakeville Rd. Online classes are conducted via Zoom, an easy-to-use video conferencing program.
