At the start of the Feb. 9 meeting, the Mineola Board of Education recognized 31 student musicians from the district for their participation in the Nassau Music Educators Association (NMEA) All-County ensembles.

The All-County honorees included students grades 5-12 who attend the district’s high school and middle school. The students performed as part of the All-County Orchestra, Band and Chorus ensembles at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at LIU Post in January.

NMEA All-County selection represents one of the highest achievements for Long Island music students. Participants are chosen based on New York State School Music Association evaluations and teacher recommendations.

The district congratulates all the All-County honorees for achieving this distinction and for their incredible dedication to their craft.
