Jim Denburg, Franchise Owner, Jersey Mike’s

Jim Denburg was born in 1965 and raised in New Jersey. He went to college at Carnegie Mellon University followed by grad school at NYU.

He started his career as a CPA with Price Waterhouse in Manhattan. After three years as an accountant, I decided I wanted to open my own business.

Researched franchising and chose Domino’s Pizza. Opened my first location in 1992 on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Opened six Domino’s Pizza stores in and around NYC, one of which was No. 1 in the U.S.

Jim then moved to The Netherlands and opened five additional Domino’s Pizza stores in Amsterdam. Following his three-year stint abroad, returned to the U.S. and pivoted to a new franchise, Smashburger. Owned three units in Brooklyn, one of which was No. 1 in the U.S.

Currently, Jim owns a four-store Jersey Mike’s franchisee in Nassau County, with plans to open two more locations.

Jersey Mike’s and doing business in Long Island has been his most rewarding business decision yet. He is looking forward to a great future!
