Girl Scouts of Nassau County announces Port Washington resident to serve on board development committee

Girl Scouts of Nassau County announced today that Port Washington resident Mike Mannix, previous GSNC board member, has been nominated to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Board Development Committee through 2026.

Mannix was sworn in during the organization’s 59th Annual Meeting, which was held at the Ruth S. Harley University Center on the Adelphi University campus.

Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s Board of Directors and Board Development Committee comprises lifelong Girl Scouts, community leaders, and nonprofit and corporative executives who provide leadership, innovation and constant support to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County council.

“Girl Scouts of Nassau County is proud to have such prestigious and accomplished members on its board of directors and board development committee who inspire and empower our Girl Scouts,” said Randell Bynum, chief executive officer of Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “I am confident that this group of leaders will help cultivate the Girl Scout experience and help fulfill our mission to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.”

Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s board of directors and board development committee provide strategic leadership and work collaboratively to build courage, confidence, and character in Nassau County girls.

They will also help raise vital funds to expand access to Girl Scout experiences that socially, academically and emotionally empower girls throughout our community.

Mannix comes from a family of Girl Scouts.

As the uncle of a Girl Scout, he is an active supporter. Through Unparalleled Performance and their trademarked 5Ls–The Gift of a Balanced Life program, Mannix is fulfilling his lifelong desire to change people’s lives by giving them real tools to find true work-life balance.

Mannix brings a passion and energy to his seminars, keynote speaking engagements, and trainings that are unique and impactful. He brings thirty-plus years of business experience spanning multiple industries, advancing to become an executive board member of a global BPO organization.

Throughout his career, Mannix has always taken a servant leader approach. Combined with his passion for teaching, this methodology has enabled his teams to continuously exceed their goals, creating a strong legacy of top industry talent.

For this, he has been recognized through numerous global awards for excellence in leadership.

Beyond his 21-plus years of creating and delivering impactful training programs in the corporate arena, he also teaches as an Adjunct Professor at New York University.

In the collegiate space, he develops and administers classes in leadership, management, strategic planning, team building, and business development.

He currently teaches at various levels, including undergraduate, graduate, career professionals, the NYU High School Academy, and NYUSPS Aspire—a scholarship program for rising high school juniors and seniors from underrepresented communities who will be first-generation college students.
