Computer Basics- Windows 10 – 1st Fl. Modular Room

Monday, November 6 at 6:30 p.m. In this workshop, we will learn how to navigate the Windows 10 operating system, manage applications using the task manager, find and manage files and folders, save and delete files and more.  This class is not intended for those with an Apple Computer.  This class is targeted for beginners.

Current Topics in Treatment of Heart Disease – Virtual

Wednesday, November 8 at 1:30 p.m. Community Health Nurse Educator, Maura Calio, discusses Current Topics in Treatment of Heart Disease: TAVR, Pacemakers/Implantable Defibrillators and addresses new techniques in the management of heart valve disease, types of arrhythmias, and current approaches in the treatment of atrial fibrillation and other abnormal heart rhythms. This program is brought to you courtesy of Nassau Libraries Health Share.

Wednesday, November 8 at 6:30 p.m. The book being discussed is: The Reading List by Sara Adams. An unforgettable and heartwarming debut about how a chance encounter with a list of library books helps forge an unlikely friendship between two very different people in a London suburb.

Wednesday, November 8, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Design and create a beautiful  AND washable wintery plate and mug using decoupage with crafter Linsay Gendy of the Makers Table!

Thursday, November 9 at 6:30 p.m. You might be familiar with Alexander Hamilton from the hit musical “Hamilton“, but how much was true about the actual man?  Marti Londal–Chapter President of the Alexander Hamilton Awareness Society–examines some myths from the musical and go beyond the lyrics to learn more about the ten-dollar founding father.

Sunday, November 12 at 1 p.m. “In 1942, a few months after the infamous Pearl Harbor attack and a few years before World War II ended, the Japanese forces were once again planning to stage a sudden attack against their opponents this time near the Midway Atoll. Their plan, however, was intercepted, and the American forces arrived at the Pacific Ocean theater just in time to stop them. The battle lasted for three days, and its outcome became a critical turning point in the ongoing war.”

Time for Kids: Farmer Rabbit! – All Purpose Room

Thursday, November 9 at 10:30 a.m. Ages: 12 months – 5 years (with parent/caregiver). Come join A Time for Kids, Inc. as we celebrate in this family fun preschool program. Activities include music, movement, fine & gross motor development and storytelling! There will also be a cute rabbit craft!
