Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D – Glen Cove) is partnering with the Nassau County Department of Assessment to bring the Homeowner Exemption Liaison Program (HELP) to the Port Washington Public Library on Wednesday, June 12, at 1 – 3 p.m. and the Bryant Library in Roslyn on Tuesday, July 23 1 – 3 p.m..

During HELP events, Department of Assessment staff will provide homeowners with individual assistance with filing for veteran, senior citizen, Cold War veteran, volunteer firefighter and ambulance worker, and limited-income disability exemptions.

Enhanced STAR applications will also be processed for homeowners who were already enrolled in the STAR program before Jan. 2, 2015.

All HELP sessions are from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Participants are asked to arrive no later than one half-hour before the scheduled end time for the event. Prior to attending the program, participants are encouraged to make copies of their 2023 federal and state tax income returns, along with the required documentation listed on the exemption application.
