Roslyn High School’s Royal Crown Players enjoyed a decorated season at the 2024 Roger Rees Awards.

RHS Chamber/Mixed Choirs won the Harmony Helper Award for Choral Excellence, earning the chance to perform live at the Roger Rees Awards showcase on May 19, 2024 in New York City. The choirs also won a $500 prize for sheet music and a one-year subscription to the Harmony Helper Program.

Freshman Liat Somekh was named an honoree in the Costume Design Showcase.

Senior Lila Freifeld was selected a Nominee for the 2024 Outstanding Performer Award in the Greater New York Region; nominated by directors Christina Cinnamo and Jill Fedun for her outstanding work in the role of Reno Sweeney in RCP’s Spring production of Anything Goes.

The Roger Rees Awards, on behalf of the Broadway Education Alliance, annually recognizes excellence in student performance in New York State and provides students with educational scholarships, training, and career advancement. The program is funded through donations from industry professionals, foundations, licensing companies, and other individuals or companies committed to supporting performing arts programs.

“The brilliance and artistry of our Roslyn students shined beautifully at the 2024 Roger Rees Awards,” said Music Director Christina Cinnamo. “I was humbled and thrilled to see our students receive recognition for their tireless work and dedication to the performing arts.”
