Roslyn, Great Neck and Glen Cove set to feature street fairs

As the temperature rises across the island, Roslyn, Great Neck and Glen Cove are among a number of areas gearing up for the 2024 Nassau County Fairs, running from late April to early November.

The Nassau County Fair organizers will include all types of vendors ranging from brick and mortar, mom-and-pop stores, not-for-profit organizations and small businesses that are selling artistry, craft, gift items, farm stands to prepackaged food and service vendors. Elected government officials and organizations are also welcome to apply for a space.

“Our vendors are the direct descendants of the American retail pioneers that built this country one town at a time,” said Alan Finchley, owner of AlansFair Inc., which produces street fairs for Nassau and other venues. “Outdoor shopping is the heart and soul of what we offer. We believe they are the reason why people come to our fairs.”

The Roslyn “Arts Craft & Gift Vendor Fair” will be held in Christopher Morley Park on Saturday and Sunday, May 25-26, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The park’s address is 500 Searingtown Road.The fair plans to feature arts and crafts and gift vendors, encouraging guests to shop with small, local businesses. Food and beverage vendors are not permitted to participate. The organizers are expecting at least 50 vendors and 1,500 shoppers to attend. Free parking admission is available for this event.

The Great Neck Street Fair will be held on Sunday, June 9, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at 607 Middle Neck Road. It will feature food trucks and a wider range of entertainment, including kiddie rides, live music. Organizers are expecting at least 100 vendors and 5,000 to attend. Free parking admission is available for this event.

In the fall, the Glen Cove Street Fair is expected to run Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 14-15 at 1 Glen Street. The time for the fair has not yet been determined. This fair will also include food trucks and live music. Organizers are expecting at least 100 vendors and 5,000 to attend. Free parking admission is available for this event.

Morley park is also planning to host another fair on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 19-20 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Food and beverage vendors are not permitted to participate. The organizers are expecting at least 50 vendors and 1,500 shoppers to attend. Free parking admission is available for this event.
