Long Island Family Health Centers rebrands as Harmony Healthcare Long Island.

Long Island FQHC Inc. (also known as Family Health Centers) announced and revealed today its rebranding initiative, culminating with a change to the organization’s name and a new visual identity. The vital community health care service provider will now be known as Harmony Healthcare Long Island.

About Harmony Healthcare Long Island

Harmony Healthcare Long Island is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit charitable organization that was originally designated as the very first federally qualified Health Center located in Nassau County in 2009.

This unique distinction fulfilled a dream of healthcare advocates who had worked for more than two decades to expand access to medically underserved communities throughout Nassau County.

The staff of Harmony Healthcare Long Island are dedicated to providing personalized health care and services to all patients served in the comfort of one of our convenient community-based locations located throughout Long Island including Elmont, Freeport, Hempstead, Oceanside, Roosevelt and Westbury.

Harmony Healthcare Long Island has had over 160,000 patient care visits to date in 2022. The majority of patients served by Harmony Healthcare Long Island live below the poverty level, speak a language other than English, and half are covered by Medicaid/Medicaid Managed Care.

Throughout the pandemic, the organization’s staff responded bravely by providing essential healthcare services to more than 58,000 patients between 2020 and 2022. As the pandemic started to dissipate, Harmony Healthcare Long Island created a three-year strategic plan, which included a rebranding initiative, concluding with the new name being announced to patients and general public.

“We remain focused on our mission to provide access to equitable and optimal healthcare. We are committed to improving the overall wellness of all individuals in our communities and delivering high-quality comprehensive patient-centered care, regardless of one’s ability to pay,” stated Harmony Healthcare Long Island President and CEO, David Nemiroff. “Our new name and logo symbolize our dedication to those we serve, supported by our spirited concept of working together as one – in perfect harmony.”

As a forward-thinking provider, Harmony Healthcare Long Island adapts to the ever-changing dynamics of today’s healthcare environment.

Adult and family primary and preventive medical care are the hallmark health care services provided, and as the demand for mental health services soars across Long Island, the organization has strengthened its behavioral health services and departments.

“This announcement is a milestone moment for our organization,” added Harmony Healthcare Long Island Board Chair Frank Piscetelli. “We are the definition of a community health care resource, and we needed to pursue a new name that was reflective of who we are as an entity. Our team works together in a harmonious environment to provide the very best care for all…one patient at a time.”

Since the pandemic, the organization has broadened its reach across Long Island by providing mobile health and tele-health services. In addition, Harmony Healthcare Long Island received a 5-year Perinatal Infant Community Health Collaborative grant to combat maternal and infant mortality.

Dental services have expanded across the system, including a newly renovated dental suite in Elmont. In 2023, the organization’s newly renovated healthcare center in Hempstead will officially open its doors, doubling its capacity to servicing more than 12,000 people within this single location.

Harmony Healthcare Long Island will continue to advance its many other specialized services including its diabetes education, women’s health, pediatric care, and school-based health center programs. Providing these essential services to underserved populations will secure Harmony Healthcare Long Island’s standing as one of the most accessible and committed providers of care across the region.
