The Scout Residential Team, a realtor group acquired by Compass in 2020, celebrated their five-year business anniversary Thursday with a party at Pietro’s to mark the company’s success and thank clients.

Liza Bendett and Melanie Cogan launched real estate brokerage Scout in 2019.

“We just wanted to give it more of a boutique feeling,” Bendett said.

Compass was looking to expand into Long Island in 2020 by acquiring pre-existing firms, so Scout became the second team to join the company just a week before the pandemic lockdown, Bendett said.

“We’ve continued our boutique feel throughout our time with Compass. We still have our own freestanding office. We still have our white glove service,” Bendett said. “We’re just on a larger platform. And it’s a nationwide platform.”

The Scout group is a team of 15 agents, many of whom live in the Roslyn community they serve. Bendett said this gives Scout realtors the unique opportunity to work alongside their neighbors.

Bendett has lived in Roslyn for 12 years and Cogan has lived in Roslyn for more than 20 years.

Bendett said she hopes to maintain the same level of white glove service at the firm and continue to act as stakeholders in the Nassau County community. She emphasized the importance of all of the agents on the Scout team and said they have each contributed an equal part to the company’s five-year success.
