Assemblyman Anthony D’Urso joined New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli and local elected officials and residents to honor our veterans at the Albertson VFW Post 5253.

After the ceremony he spoke with Sgt. Anthony Catalano, a 97 year old WWII veteran who served with the 70th Infantry Division of Gen. George Patton’s Third Army. Sergeant Catalano now serves on the Town of North Hempstead’s Veterans Advisory Committee and is also member of the Albertson Post’s Color Guard and Drill Team.

“I wish to express my deepest gratitude to our veterans,” D’Urso said. “People such as Sgt. Catalano are our true heroes.”
