The rain could not stop the recent Manhasset Chamber’s Halloween on Plandome Trick or Treat event.

Over 500 kids came out in costume to celebrate Halloween early and trick along the streets of Manhasset at participating merchants.

The event kicked off with a Halloween Party in front of Mary Jane Davies Park, with a Fur-tastic dance performance by Annmarie’s Studio of Performing Arts Hip Hop team Ooo Cruu.

“I’m very grateful to the town of Manhasset for having us perform our routines. So glad my team and I got to share our love for dance with everyone! I hope that our appearance will help inspire kids to want to dance and make dancing a part of their lives,” said Anna Palmieri, Dancer from ASPA Dance.

Gorgie Porgie followed with a stupendous Magic Show sponsored by Enchanted Manhasset. All residents of the community were astonished by these amazing performances!

The “Chamber Power” pulled off an amazing event for the community. Pre-filled Halloween Goodie Backpacks and treats were given out by the Chamber and Shop Manhasset. “This event is one of my favorites to plan. We love seeing the kids and families all dressed up in their amazing costumes.

Although we were nervous about the rain for another Saturday, we were so glad to move forward with the event. It was a huge success bringing together our Manhasset Community and our amazing business” said Antonietta Manzi, co-president of the Chamber and founder of Shop Manhasset.

In attendance was North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jennifer DeSenna, state Assemblywoman Gina Sillitti and Flower Hill Village Trustee Mary Jo Collins who participated in the Halloween festivities.

Elite Auto set up a Spooky Trunk or Treat, giving out Candy to from their decorated Chevy Blazer. Douglas Elliman hosted a Pumpkin Painting and Young’s Fine Wine & Spirits had a Bourbon Tasting for the adults!

The Forbes Team participated at the event as a Sponsor, Dana Forbes stated “This year and every year, our local Halloween on Plandome Road brings the community together in a vibrant celebration of creativity and fun. This year was no exception, despite the iffy weather it was a fun-filled day of costumes, entertainment, and of course, that filled the street with excitement for both families and local business owners. Manhasset truly embraces the spirit of Halloween and creates lasting memories in our spirited community.”

The children trick or treated following a Candy Map of participating merchants along town. “Halloween on Plandome was so fun! We appreciate the participation of local businesses so our children were able to enjoy themselves. What a great day!” said Manhasset resident Debbie Karropoulos.

Approximately 65 businesses participated this year. “It was great seeing our community come together and the smiles on the children’s faces were amazing” says David Haghani, owner of Gallery Couture and Loop Men.

The chamber is looking forward to planning their next event, Merry Manhasset on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 25 – a day to celebrate and support small businesses and all they do for their communities.

Santa and Mrs Claus will be back this year for photos and Holiday movies will be shown throughout the day at Manhasset Cinemas so Save the Date! Follow @shopmanhasset and @manhassetchamber on social media to stay updated.
