God’s people of all ages are suffering in poverty right here in our neighborhood. They need food assistance all through the year, but especially during the holiday season. Good Samaritan House of the Church of St. Mary is hosting a “Thanksgiving Drive-thru Holiday Food Drop” with the goal of collecting the freshest possible food items to allow our neighbors suffering in poverty to enjoy a true feast with their families on Thanksgiving.
The collection will take place on Monday, Nov. 6, 2023, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in the parking lot behind the Church of St. Mary – 1300 Northern Blvd., Manhasset.
Items Needed: 10-15 lbs max frozen turkeys, frozen oven-stuffer chickens, 3-8 lbs bags of potatoes, fresh apples/oranges, 1 lb size butter, crescent rolls/biscuits, canned vegetables, cake/muffin/brownie mixes, quarts of milk (no gallons, please), frozen pies/cakes/cookies. Grocery store gift cards are welcome!
