On Thursday, Jan. 21, the Greater New Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce overcame the challenges of social distancing by holding its annual presidential gala via Zoom, emanating from the back room at Gino’s Restaurant.
Cheryl Fajardo was sworn in as president and received the gavel from past president Jeanette Frisina.Â
Other officers being sworn in were Donna Pagano, 1st. VP; Saveeta Barnes, 2nd VP & Secretary; Larry Armstrong, 3rd VP: and Richard Guilfoyle, Treasurer.
Newly elected and returning board members were also sworn in. Administering the various oaths of office and attending via Zoom were Nassau County’s Executive Laura Curran, Presiding Officer of the Legislature Rich Nicolello, and Legislator Ellen Birnbaum.
From New York State: State Assemblyman Ed Ra, and Sen. Anna Kaplan; From the Town of North Hempstead: Supervisor Judi Bosworth, Town Clerk Wayne Wink, and Councilman Angelo Ferrara. Â
