Mark your calendars. Saturday, May 20 from 11 am – 3 pm, the Garden City Park Fire Department will hold an open house and recruitment event at its headquarters, located at 2264 Jericho Turnpike in Garden City Park.
Department members will be on hand to conduct tours of the station and apparatus, allow visitors to view firefighting gear and tools, talk about firefighting and EMS activities, provide information and answer questions on becoming a member of a valued community-focused organization.
Activities will give visitors a taste of what it means to join dedicated volunteer public service in the firefighting and EMS fields, including becoming a firefighter, EMT, and paramedic.
Learn the requirements and rewards of joining a great community organization. All are welcome, families and children. Light refreshments will be provided.
The Garden City Park Fire Department services portions of these communities: Garden City Park, Manhasset Hills, North New Hyde Park, North Hills, Williston Park, Searingtown, Roslyn and Herricks.
