Medicare 2023 Updates and Options – All Purpose Room                                                                               Monday, February 27 at 6 p.m. The Nassau County Health Insurance Information Counseling and Assistance Program (HIICAP) is offering an informative session on Medicare 2023 Updates and Options.This program is designed for existing and new Medicare members.

Stress Away – Virtual

Tuesday, February 28 at 7 p.m. In this SEATED CHAIR class, we will explore many different ways of handling stress. We will explore different breathing techniques to calm your nervous system, and we will experience gentle ways of stretching and releasing physical tension in the body. We will also explore guided relaxation techniques and short mindful guided visualizations to bring you back to the peace and stillness you are MEANT to feel

Wednesday, March 1 at 6:30 p.m. The book being discussed is: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. “Orphaned as a child, Jane has felt an outcast her whole young life. Her courage is again tested when she arrives at Thornfield Hall, where she has been hired by the forlorn and dignified Edward Rochester to care for Adèle, his ward.  Jane finds herself drawn to his anxious but compassionate spirit and she falls in love. However, there is a chilling secret inside the forbidding Thornfield Hall. What is Rochester hiding from Jane?

VITA Tax Aide “Free”                                                                                                                                                          Free assistance is available for persons with incomes, $70,000 or less, who wish to have their taxes prepared by trained volunteers in the Volunteer Tax Assistance Program. You can call the library at 516 355-7850, x101 or 102 to schedule an appointment on any of the following days: Saturdays, March 4, 11, 18 or 25; April 1, 8 or 15.  The following are the appointment times: 10:15 a.m.; 11:15 a.m.; 12:15 p.m. or 1:15 p.m.

Virtual Paint Night

Friday, February 24 at 7 p.m. Grades 5 – 12. Join our artist Alma as she virtually guides you through a step-by-step painting.  No experience necessary, beginners welcome! For a list of the supplies needed, please go to the library’s website.

 

Baby Jam – Children’s Room

Tuesday, February 28 at 4:30 p.m.  Ages: 6 months – 5 years (with parent/caregiver). Join Ms. Andrea of Baby Jam for songs on guitar and animal puppet friends, as we shake and move to a happy beat to children’s favorites, and march around in an imaginary animal alphabet train track! We’ll also tap and count to the beat with big gathering drums and other musical instruments, and enjoy movement with a big color parachute, sensory scarves, and bubbles with our little ones!
