DECEMBER 1 – DECEMBER 8, 2023 PROGRAMS and EVENTS

The Hillside Public Library is partnering with Assemblyman Ra’s 6th Annual Toy Drive that will benefit the John Theissen Children’s Foundation and NYU Langone’s Child Life Program. This Drive will be active until December 8 and, there are bins at the library where your donations could be placed.  We look forward to your generosity, and we thank you.

Mobile Device Basics-Android – 1st Floor Modular Room

Monday, December 4 at 6:30 p.m. This workshop is for those who have a new Android mobile device, or are considering getting one, and want to learn more about the basic functions. It will support attendees to get connected, identify common apps, and build confidence in using their device safely.

Fresh Fiction Book Club – 1st Floor Modular Room and Virtual

Wednesday, December 6 at 6:30 p.m.  The book being discussed is: Sea Wife by Amity Gaige. “Juliet is failing to juggle motherhood and her stalled-out dissertation on confessional poetry when her husband, Michael, informs her that he wants to leave his job and buy a sailboat.

Friday, December 8 at 7 p.m. Sketching and Acrylics with Alma for everyone! December 9 is National Llama Day! Llamas aren’t just adorable, majestic creatures, they’re also a big help to people all over the world. Holiday Sing Along with Marilyn McClean – All Purpose Room

Sunday, December 10 at 2 p.m. Join us for a Sing Along with Marilyn McClean, featuring some of your favorite holiday and snow themed songs! No singing experience is required!

All are welcome to come and sing along to some of the most popular holiday songs of all time or come and enjoy an afternoon of good cheer.

YA Art Club – All Purpose Room

Friday, December 1 at 5 p.m.  Grades 5 – 12. Whether you’re new to art or already a fan, help decorate the YA Room by creating a unique art project with Ms. Ambadjes.  By using a template and canvas everyone will have the chance to make a fun project.  All projects will be displayed and returned the following class/month.
