Creative Writing Workshop for Teens

Teens in grades 7-12
Get inspired and flex those creative muscles in this creative writing workshop series. Join us and learn how to develop your writing skills and share your story. Beginner writers welcome! This series is made possible by a generous grant from HEARTS PW. Teens participating in the series may have the potential for community service credit work with younger children. Stubborn Petruchio (Richard Burton) resolves to tame his feisty bride Kate (Elizabeth Taylor) in this lively adaptation of Shakespeare’s comedy. Michael Hordern, Michael York and Cyril Cusack co-star. Laury Magnus, professor of English in the humanities department, will lead a discussion after the film.

Art Lecture with Thomas Germano – Sublime Ideas: Drawings by Giovanni Battista Piranesi

Giovanni Battista Piranesi (1720–1778) became internationally famous working as a printmaker, designer, architect, archaeologist, theorist, dealer and polemicist. Professor Thomas Germano will present a visual lecture about the life and works of Piranesi, including the Morgan Library’s exhibition, which boasts the largest and most important collection of Piranesi’s drawings worldwide.
