North Hempstead Town Council Member Peter Zuckerman attended the 2nd annual “Game On for Autism” event on Sunday, June 4, at the Park at East Hills.

The event was organized Roslyn High School student Justin Wasserman and his family who are residents of East Hills.

Inspired by his younger brother Jason, who has autism, Justin Wasserman decided to create an event where children could play flag football, while raising money for a local organization that provides programs and resources for individuals with special needs.

Zuckerman presented Justin with a proclamation of recognition for his service to the community.

All proceeds from the event will go towards the Sid Jacobson JCC’s Camp Kehilla, whose mission is to initiate new opportunities and experiences for campers with special needs. Over 300 children participated in this year’s event.
