The Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation is proud to sponsor the Bayside Historical Society’s 22nd Annual Winter Art Show. The exhibit showcases the works of contemporary Queens-based artists in a variety of styles and mediums. This year’s exhibit, in addition to featuring student artists, also includes a special, dedicated section that highlights the works of older adults living in long-term care in Queens. The complete exhibit, which runs through February, is located at the Bay Terrace Shopping Center, with art also showcased at adjacent storefronts.

The prominent exhibit, which can also be viewed online, features the works of artists in the categories of drawing, sculpture/3D, mixed media, watercolor, photography, oil and acrylic painting, quilts and folk art.

“We are so proud to sponsor this exhibit and are thrilled to see the works of some of our residents, who created impressive art at Parker Jewish Institute,” said Michael N. Rosenblut, Parker’s President and CEO. “Art is just one of the mediums that Parker residents enjoy as it provides both a channel for expression and engagement. When people create art, they often experience a mood boost, and it can help them maintain their health, well-being and cognitive function. Our residents looked forward to their time creating art, and their works are truly inspiring.”

This year’s show is also part of the inaugural Winter Festival on Feb. 26 at Bay Terrace Shopping Center. Hosted by Cord Meyer Development, the festival will run from 1 to 5 p.m.
