Antigone Rising is proud to announce the release of their much-awaited new
album “True Joy.”

The collection features a mix of both live and studio tracks highlighting the
band’s signature vocal harmonies, rich musicality, and ability to write and perform from the
heart. True Joy features such tracks as “Avalanche”, a powerful anthem of female
empowerment, “It’s Gonna Be Alright (Hey Hey),” an upbeat, swampy ride that inspired the
album title, “Right There With You,” and “Badlands” co-written with multi-Grammy winning
songwriter Lori McKenna.

The members of the band are from Glen Cove originally and two live in Sea Cliff and one Locust Valley.

Described by Melissa Etheridge as “a rock band with a big bold sound”, when Cathy Henderson, Kristen Ellis-Henderson and Nini Camps started working on True Joy, the intent was to assemble a female-centric production team, including the video production of “Avalanche” and “Badlands.”
When they are not writing or recording music, they are passionately investing their time and energy into their not-for-profit 501(c)(3), Girls Rising, mentoring young females.

After years of performing throughout the world they realized Antigone Rising was a powerful platform they could leverage to change the injustices and disparities women often face all over the world.
