The Great Neck Library is hosting a special Sunday Musical Performance Serenade Duo with Flutist Michelle LaPorte and guitarist Gerry Saulter on Sunday, Nov. 12 at the Main Library, 159 Bayview Ave. in Great Neck, at 2:00 p.m.
The award-winning ensemble Serenade Duo featuring flutist Michelle LaPorte and guitarist Gerry Saulter share music of the world with their warm stage presence and engaging performances of culturally diverse repertoire.
Through creative thematic programming their vision is to make music accessible and enjoyable for audiences of all ages across the globe.
Serenade Duo has toured extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and Canada as performers, educators, and world chamber music advocates. They are proud concert and recording artists for Centaur Records, Alhambra Guitars, Miyazawa Flutes, Celestine Flute Rexonator, RC Strings, and Fishman Music.
As five-time winners of Artists International’s Distinguished Chamber Music Award, the Duo has performed concerts at Carnegie Hall and Merkin Concert Hall in New York City.
Other featured performances include American Church in Paris, St. Lawrence Jewry-Guild Hall London, St. Ann’s Church Dublin, Toronto Latin American Flute Festival, Puerto Rico Flute Symposium, and many other arts organizations, music societies, festivals, museums, and educational institutions. Recently, Serenade Duo were honored as Finalists in the Professional Chamber Music Division of the prestigious American Prize.
