Trick or Treat at New York’s only White House experience at Long Island University on Oct. 28

Families and children of all ages will have the opportunity to trick-or-treat at “The White House” on Saturday, Oct. 28 at New York’s only White House simulation at Long Island University’s Roosevelt School on its Brookville campus at 720 Northern Blvd. in Brookville.

The “White House Experience” which features recreations of the Oval Office, Situation Room and other well-known rooms at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is open to families from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, with children’s activities, pumpkins, a picnic on the White House lawn and prizes for the best U.S. President costume.

“Children often dream of becoming President of the United States, but few will ever have the opportunity to sit at The Resolute Desk,” noted Kimberly R. Cline, president of Long Island University. “The White House Experience at the Roosevelt School was designed to provide Long Islanders with a simulation of what it is like to hold the most powerful office in the world, and the challenges and decisions that come along with that responsibility.”

Admission is $10 per person for ages 2 and up. Also available at the Roosevelt School is the “Hail to the Chief” exhibit of Presidential campaign memorabilia from George Washington’s inauguration through to the 2020 election, provided by The Museum of Democracy.
