A $35,000 Hermes Birkin pocketbook and other personal belongings were stolen from a mother and daughter in Great Neck Wednesday afternoon during what the victims believed would be the completion of an online-initiated transaction, according to Nassau County Police.

Police said during the robbery, the daughter was forcefully pulled out of the car by one of the assailants and both victims were sprayed in the face with pepper spray.

The victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries, according to police.

Police said the mother, 45, had agreed to meet an unknown man to sell the Hermes pocketbook after discussing the sale on the We Chat App.

She was joined by her daughter, 17, to meet the man outside of 6 Bellingham Lane for the transaction around 1:40 p.m. Wednesday.

When the two victims arrived, the mother exited her vehicle to discuss the transaction with the man when an unknown dark-colored grey SUV pulled up.

Three unknown men wearing masks exited the car and demanded the pocketbook and other personal items from the victims, according to police.

In addition to the pocketbook, police said, the men stole jewelry, cell phones, the victims’ purses and an undetermined amount of money during the robbery.

Police said the victims complied due to fear for their safety.

All four men fled southbound on Bellingham Lane towards Fairview Avenue in the grey SUV, according to police.

Police say that the subjects were described as two Asian males and two black males. They do not have any further description.

The investigation is ongoing.
