Delivery driver accused of reckless endangerment in New Hyde Park

A delivery driver was charged with reckless endangerment after police said he punched a man in the face in New Hyde Park and caused around $2,000 worth of damage after hitting two trucks.

Antoine Taitt, 29, was making a delivery on Wednesday, June 21, in the rear parking lot of 151 Denton Ave. when the male victim, 43, approached Taitt and inquired where the package was being delivered, police said.

After an argument ensued, Taitt punched the victim in the face and the two had to be separated by a nearby bystander, police said.

Taitt then got in his 2019 Ford Transit Van and backed up twice toward the victim, who ran between two semi-trucks, police said.

Taitt crashed into the trucks before fleeing the scene and causing approximately $2,000 worth of damage, police said.

Taitt is charged with reckless endangerment, criminal mischiefand assault, police said.
