‘Ghost’ guns, apparent drugs recovered from car after search in GCP parking lot: Police

A Hempstead man was charged after officers found “ghost” guns and what they believed to be cocaine in his car, police said.

Police said they saw Charles Urbas, 34, urinating in the parking lot of 2349 Jericho Turnpike in Garden City Park while on patrol on Tuesday, June 13.

After Arbas went into his 2010 Chevy Suburban, police said they recovered three cut straws containing a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine, two loaded “ghost” handguns and two Ziploc bags containing a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine.

“Ghost” guns are privately made firearms without serial numbers and can be assembled at home with a 3D printer or kit.

Arbas was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, four counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, unlawful possession of an ammunition feeding device, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and disorderly conduct.
