It’s time for readers like Eric Cashdan to put aside the terms “racist” and “fascist” for anyone engaged in support of President Trump. This is not the platform to discuss their extremely dangerous overuse. Hurling such epithets as an expression of some readers’ relentless and irrational hatred of Trump reduces the power of those words. It negates the realities of those who did suffer under Nazi rule or experience true racism today.
For the record, Congressman Lee Zeldin is working for all of Long Island. He recently fought and won a power grab over the use of Plum Island near the East End, surely a benefit for the entire community.

It’s long past time for time for Trumplicans like Susan Buckler to face the REALITY of what and who the current occupant of the White House is. Those who enable, and dare I say support him wear the stain of his racism and his pathetic fascist autocratic slime show.
Based on his voting record, Zeldin is definitely not working for all Long Islanders.
He’s voted against raising the minimum wage, requiring paid sick day, and against protecting employees’ rights to unionize and negotiate with employers. Zeldin refused to restore SALT deductions b/c it burdened households making over $500,000.
If Zeldin was working for L.I., why did he vote against COVID relief bills in May and October?* Folks could’ve had help 6 months ago.
Those bills would have provided the serious help L.I. and the country need including $1,200 stimulus checks; hazard pay to frontline workers ( $13/hr)…..extending the extra $600 in weekly unemployment benefits…..and $1 trillion to help state and local govts including Suffolk and Nassau counties, so they can pay police, teachers, firefighters, to cite a few example.

Zeldin is a political eunuch without the acumen to accomplish much of anything beyond pulling the wool over the eyes of his seriously un-informed and ill-informed electorate. ‘Plum Island’ was going NOWHERE until DEMOCRATIC (Capital D) Senators Schumer, Gillebrand, Blumenthal and Murphy made it happen. The only thing of consequence that Zeldin has done recently is expose himself as a member of the SEDITION CAUCUS of the Trumplican Party. SAD!
