We arrived in Great Neck in 1974 so we have resided in Great Neck for 48 years.

The primary reason we chose to live in Great Neck was its outstanding reputation for providing excellent schools from elementary school through high school. It really didn’t matter whether we chose a house in the north or south the schools were all outstanding.

Donna Peirez has contributed to this outstanding reputation as a teacher at Lakeville for 28 years, a PTA leader and as a knowledgable, experienced member of the school board. Her children attended Great Neck schools as my children did.

As parents, we experienced the program for gifted children for one child and the special needs educational assistance program for our hearing-impaired child. The enlightened educational foundation my children received was outstanding as they each went on to higher education one having achieved a master’s degree and the other a doctorate.

We shared with our children what they were being taught. Most importantly they learned how to study and prepare for the challenges of learning. The teachers encouraged our children to explore and consider a multitude of ideas and at the same time to think about finding their path in an ever-changing and challenging world.

Donna Peirez understands the need to provide our children with an honest overview and perspective of the world that we live in now with literature, the arts, history, geography, science, sociology and mathematics.

She knows how to develop and allocate funds for a school budget to maintain Great Neck’s reputation for quality education. Donna knows how to effectively communicate with the administration.

These are challenging times and we need knowledgeable, experienced and thoughtful board members to function on behalf of all the residents of the Great Neck community children, adolescents and adults.

Donna Peirez is a superb candidate an exceptional asset in our community who must be re-elected to serve on the school board to sustain the outstanding reputation and quality of the Great Neck school district on Long Island and in New York State.

We strongly support Donna Peirez and encourage everyone to come out and vote on May 17 for Donna Peirez.
